Illinois destinations along Route 66 will be among the locations featured in a new “Google Doodle” that will appear on the search engine site Saturday.
“Google Doodles” are original works of animation that show up on the Google site to commemorate special occasions. In this case, Saturday marks the 96th anniversary of the formal designation of the famed Chicago-to-L.A. highway.
The animation features Lincoln’s Home, along with landmarks in Chicago, Granite City, and various other stops along the entire 24-hundred mile route.
