Illinois Representatives Rodney Davis, Darin LaHood, and Mary Miller are among the members of Congress who have been hit with sanctions by the Russian government.

The sanctions are a move taken in retaliation for the extensive economic sanctions imposed by the U.S. against Russia over its invasion of Ukraine. The sanctions prohibit the lawmakers from traveling to Russia. LaHood issued a statement saying he was “proud” to have been hit with sanctions by Vladimir Putin, whom LaHood called a “thug” and a “war criminal.”

Only three members of the state’s congressional delegation were not included on the list released by Russia this week: Republican Adam Kinzinger and Democrats Raja Krishnamoorthi and Brad Schneider. It’s not known why they were not on the sanctions list.
