A longtime Abraham Lincoln impersonator at events in Springfield and around the state has pleaded guilty to child pornography charges.
64-year-old George Buss had portrayed Lincoln at various events since the 1980s. He was arrested in 2020 on child porn charges and pleaded guilty Thursday in Stephenson County Circuit Court in northern Illinois.
Buss will have to register as a sex offender and could face up to seven years in prison when he’s sentenced in June.
