Monday is the deadline for candidates to file to appear on the June primary ballot in Illinois.

Republican State Senator Steve McClure of Springfield filed petitions late last week to run for re-election in the new 54th Senate District. A new conservative slate of Republican candidates has also filed petitions, adding to crowded GOP primaries for governor, secretary of state, and U.S. Senator.

Petitions must arrive at the State Board of Elections office in Springfield by 5pm Monday for the candidate to be listed on the ballot.
