It’s been an intense week for Springfield firefighters… with four structure fires in a single 24-hour period.
A mobile home fire Tuesday injured one person and displaced a total of six people. That followed three fires on Monday, including one that prompted the evacuation of Bunn-O-Matic on Stevenson Drive after a piece of equipment caught fire. Monday evening, crews put out a fire and rescued a dog from a burning home on East Capitol, and hours later, firefighters were able to stop a fire in an attached garage from spreading to the rest of the house on Eagle Wing Road.
One person was evaluated for injuries in that incident.
