Sangamon County will no longer provide daily COVID-19 updates to the media, in another sign that the pandemic may be winding down.
Since the first cases showed up here in the spring of 2020, the county had sent out regular press updates on total cases, deaths, and hospitalizations. But the county notes that cases have been rapidly declining… and the increase use of at-home tests means the health department numbers may not represent the whole picture.
The county still plans to post updates on its website and through its social media channels.
