Governor JB Pritzker is asking Illinois’s public pension funds to consider divesting any holdings they have in Russian-based companies.
Pritzker says Illinois stands with Ukraine in the ongoing conflict with Russian forces. The governor says each of the five pension funds should review their holdings and determine the feasibility of getting rid of Russian assets.
He’s asking for a briefing from the pension boards “at the earliest possible date.”
