District 186 has rolled out an expanded renovation plan for Lanphier High School that will speed up the timeline for major improvements to the building and the adjacent Memorial Stadium.
After initially budgeting $66 million for the first phase of improvement, the district now plans to spend $93 million to upgrade the building, including a new auditorium, gymnasium, and commons area. The money will also pay for a new entrance, locker rooms, and ticket office for Memorial Stadium.
Some of the work is already underway, and the project should be largely completed by the fall of 2023.
