If you’re wondering where your state income tax return is, there’s a new way to get notified of the status more quickly.
Comptroller Susana Mendoza has launched a “Find My Refund” feature through her website. Mendoza says that even though her office does not process tax returns, it cuts the checks…and therefore is often inundated with questions about when a refund check will arrive. You can sign up for text and email alerts at the comptroller’s office website, illinoiscomptroller.gov.
Mendoza notes that she won’t have any information about an individual refund until the tax return is processed by the state Department of Revenue and sent on to her office.
