The attorney who has gained statewide visibility for his repeated lawsuits against Governor JB Pritzker’s COVID mitigations now wants to be the state’s top lawyer.

Thomas DeVore discussed his bid to become Illinois Attorney General in a live appearance Tuesday on WMAY. DeVore had earlier launched a campaign for an appellate court seat, but has now shifted his sights.

DeVore says that if he becomes AG, he would try to convene a grand jury to investigate “harms” that he says were caused by the state’s COVID actions, suggesting those actions may constitute official misconduct or unlawful intimidation.
