Weather Permitting, First Friday Concerts Are Back In February

The first Friday of the month means a free concert at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception.

The concert scheduled for this Friday at 7pm (weather permitting) will feature Leon Lewis-Nicol, a pianist who moved to the United States in 2016 and studied at both Millikin and U of I. Mark Gifford who puts on the concerts says he met Lewis-Nicol through his uncle while buying a car. Leon’s uncle shared some piano videos with Gifford, who would eventually get in contact with him. Mark says that if the weather is still harsh come Friday, the concert may have to be a “Second” Friday performance, or maybe even moved back to another month.

This will be Leon Lewis-Nicol’s first ever solo concert.
