An effort to expand the reach of Springfield’s public library is once again included in Mayor Jim Langfelder’s proposed city budget.

Langfelder is seeking funds for a bookmobile for Lincoln Library. The idea was first proposed in 2019 but was shelved when the director at that time left.

It’s now back in the budget, but it’s unclear if Langfelder’s decision to fire library director Rochelle Hartman will once again delay the project.
