On December 31, 1969, President Richard Nixon designated January as National Blood Donor Month, which honors voluntary blood donors and encourages people to give blood.

ImpactLife is the exclusive provider of blood products and services to more than 100 hospitals in Illinois, Iowa, Missouri, and Wisconsin.

The organization relies on the generosity of donors and community partners.

Did you know that less than 10% of Americans donate blood?

The COVID-19 pandemic has put an additional strain on the blood supply. ImpactLife encourages blood donors to make and keep appointments to give blood.

Blood Donation Facts:

  • 1 in 7 patients entering the hospital need blood
  • Only 12% of blood donations come from millennials.
  • 50% of the nation’s blood supply comes from blood drives.
  • Only 5% of blood donors in America are African American, however the need is far greater.
