The slate of announced Republican candidates for governor has already gotten more crowded.
Max Solomon is an attorney and an ordained minister who bills himself as “Christian, conservative, Republican, in that order.” Appearing live on WMAY, Solomon says he will run on a platform of “constitutional pension reform,” changing the provision of the state constitution that prohibits diminishment of public sector pension benefits. He also vows to consolidate units of local government, including school districts, across the state.
Solomon is the fifth announced candidate for the GOP nomination to challenge Democratic incumbent JB Pritzker next year.
