The holidays are arriving early for Sangamon County deputies.
Sheriff Jack Campbell says the county’s holiday enforcement detail starts Friday, and will run through January 3rd. The county and other law enforcement agencies around the state will conduct extra details, looking specifically for impaired or distracted drivers, speeders, and seat belt violations.
Campbell is urging holiday partiers to plan ahead and have a designated driver or make plans to use public transportation or a ride-sharing service instead of drinking and driving.
