The two Republican congressmen representing Springfield have once again voted against a criminal contempt of Congress citation related to the investigation of the January 6th attack on the U.S. Capitol.
Rodney Davis and Darin LaHood joined most other Republicans in opposing the motion to hold former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows in contempt for refusing to sit for a deposition with the January 6th select committee. Davis calls the committee a partisan sham, and says Congress should be focused instead on improving Capitol security.
Only two GOP House members voted to hold Meadows in contempt, including Adam Kinzinger of Illinois.
