An investigation is underway after the discovery of human remains in a load of trash that arrived at the Waste Management facility in Springfield Thursday.
Deputies were called to the site in the 3000 block of East Ash around 10:20 Thursday morning and found the remains of a middle-aged white male.
It was not immediately clear how he died, and an autopsy is being conducted in an effort to determine the exact circumstances of his death.
