Mid-West Family Broadcasting (WMAY, WNNS, WQLZ, US92.7) along with Heartland Heating & Cooling, Inc. and Rheem wants to help out one lucky person or family this holiday with a brand new HVAC system valued up to $12,000!
Nominations have been submitted, now it’s time to vote! Voting will run from Tuesday, December 11 at 6:00AM CST and ends on Wednesday, December 19 at 11:59PM CST.
NOMINEE #1: He is a 10 year Marine Corp Vet deployed multiple times and is currently an Illinois National Guard. The nominee is currently enrolled at Western Illinois University for the spring semester. His wife is a 6th-grade science teacher at Cantrell Elementary. The house they bought has the original furnace from 1980, which is on its last leg. This would help them tremendously as they have a new addition to the family on the way.
NOMINEE #2: She always puts her kids’ needs before her own. The nominee’s youngest son has epilepsy, having heat would be one less thing for her to worry about. They have paid to have their furnace fixed but it’s on its last leg and is barely keeping the home warm. This would be a great present just in time for the holidays.
NOMINEE #3: Nominee is a single mother of 2 young boys. She is recently divorced as of last year and her ex-husband does not help her out. She is trying to make ends meet with no help. Her heater is 45 years old and she has no air conditioning. She will soon need a roof and windows within the next year. She truly deserves this.
NOMINEE #4: The nominee is a great person who is dealing with a lot of health issues. She has terrible allergies and was just recently diagnosed with Lupus, which prevents her from spending any time outside. She has insurance but the out of pocket fees are taking all her spare cash. She doesn’t have the money to repair her HVAC system and is having issues with it. She has had so much going on this year that this would be a blessing for her.
NOMINEE #5: Her son was born at only 24 weeks weighing only 1lb 12oz, he is now 4 years old but still has some health issues. Their furnace makes an awful noise and I’m afraid on one of the cold nights it’s going to go out on her and her 4 kids. You can hear it as your walking to the house it shakes many things in the house and their utility bills are higher than their neighbors! Some mornings she wakes up and its so cold in the house due to heat not even kicking on during the night.
NOMINEE #6: My mother and step-father have fallen on hard times. My mother is 74-years-old and my step-father is 65. My mother is retired on a very small SS benefit and step-father was the primary provider. In April 2017, he had a stroke and became permanently disabled. They now both live off of the limited SS benefit available to them. Last summer, their compressor unit died and they have been trying to save for a new one ever since. They would so benefit from a new HVAC system.
