Springfield man on parole arrested for violations, guns and drugs recovered from scene

On July 2 Springfield Police Department Street Crimes Unit assisted Illinois Department of Corrections parole agents in conducting a compliance check in the 3000 block of S. 3rd Street.

Subsequently, guns and drugs were found at that location.

32 year old Cortez Gardner of Springfield was arrested for the manufacture and/or delivery of cocaine, unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, unlawful possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, and possession of firearms.

Gardner is on parole for felony domestic battery, and is currently being held at the Sangamon County Jail.
