For the first time since the start of the pandemic, Springfield’s Helping Hands plans to restore day services for the homeless population next month.

Such services were suspended back in March of 2020, but are now slated to return on September 1st. Helping Hands says clients will be able to get assistance with basic case management services, including help in obtaining a state ID, birth certificate, or other official records, as well as referrals to other agencies and programs. Day services will be available Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 1pm at the Helping Hands office at 1023 East Washington.

Masks will be required for all clients, staff, and visitors.
