An Illinois nurse has resigned her position after an angry tweet in the aftermath of last week’s decision striking down Roe v. Wade.
In her tweet, she suggested that she might deny drugs like Viagra to a patient who was, quote, “a white male who votes conservative.” WCIA-TV reports the woman was an advance practice registered nurse at Sarah Bush Lincoln Hospital in Mattoon, who resigned after the tweet went viral.
The woman issued a statement through the hospital apologizing for the tweet and saying her “hateful words” did not align with how she has provided care to patients.
