The University of Illinois Springfield Performing Arts Center is reinstating a mask requirement for all patrons while COVID transmission rates in Sangamon County are designated as “high.”

The theater is also encouraging anyone who has cold- or flu-like symptoms not to attend events there, and says older and immunocompromised people should carefully consider whether or not to attend. The mask requirement will be in place for Wednesday evening’s performance of the Riverdance 25th Anniversary Show. Sangamon County was moved to the “high” designation last week, and UIS says its mask requirement will remain in place until that designation is lowered.
