The original Stray Cats Trio of Brian Setzer, Slim Jim Phantom, and Lee Rocker are reuniting in Nashville for a brand new album and new tour in 2019.
Even though front man Brian Setzer has been going solo with the Brian Setzer Orchestra, the three did find time to to do four sold our shows over the summer. It was the first time they had played together in 10 years and seemed to ignite a passion to get back together to celebrate the bands 40th anniversary.
Stray Cat’s drummer Slim Jim Phantom said, “Making a new Stray Cats album for 2019 in Nashville seems like the exact right thing, right time, right place, and right band for the gig! We have an album’s worth of new songs that are classic rockabilly while keeping the music and style current and fresh, like always. In other words. . . A Stray Cats album.”
No tour dates have been announced for the upcoming tour. The Stray Cats last album was Choo Choo Hot Fish which was released in 1992.
