22 year old Mamoudou Gassama was walking past a building in Paris when he heard the screaming. He looked up and launched into action.
With in 30 seconds he had scaled four floors to reach a toddler who was clinging to the railing.
His actions were regarded as heroic and French President Macron rewarded him with a medal, and a promise of citizenship to the young man who had just moved to Paris from Mali, Africa. The child had apparently been left alone by his father and French authorities are investigating.
