While you’re out Trick-or-Treating this weekend, you’ll probably see a few teal pumpkins – in case you don’t know what they mean, it’s important for you to check this out.
The Teal Pumpkin Project is an international campaign founded in 2014 by Food Allergy Research & Education (FARE) and provides alternatives for children who suffer from food allergies as well as those whom candy is not an option, keeping Halloween a positive & fun experience. 1 in 13 children in the United States suffer from some sort of food allergy.
If you’d like to participate in the campaign, simply paint a pumpkin teal and place it outside for trick-or-treaters to see. You should also purchase inexpensive non-food treats such as small toys, glow sticks or coloring books to pass out to kids.
FARE’s goal for 2016 is to have one teal pumpkin on every block in every neighborhood across the country. #TealPumpkinProject #TealPumpkin
