A father and son visiting Yellowstone Park saw a baby bison alone in the cold. So they did the only thing they could think of….
Dad loaded the calf up into the back of their SUV and they drove it to a ranger station.
Fortunately, Mama Bison wasn’t around to see the pair of humans calf-napping her baby or this story could have had a very different ending. As it is, when the father and son got to the ranger station, they received a ticket for interfering with wildlife.
Yellowstone has a strict policy of keeping away from the wildlife and not directly interacting with it. However, these tourists felt their actions were justified as they were seriously concerned the bison would freeze in the 30 degree weather.
The rangers took the calf back to where it was found and released it.
