She said she would take him to prom when pigs fly…and then they did!
16-year-old Ben Davis faces a lot of challenges in his life but one thing he can count on are some amazing friends. Ben suffers from a rare genetic condition that attacks his nervous system, and causes a build-up of iron in his brain. As a result, he has trouble talking and is confined to a wheelchair.
He was at his Lansing, MI schools prep rally on Friday when he was brought out to the main floor. Two students brought out a box from his friend, 19-year-old senior Vee Nguyen. The two had been friends when she started working with the special needs program.
What happens next…well, have a tissue ready!
“I’ll ask you to prom when pigs fly” And he said Yes!
I met Ben Davis two years ago and ever since then we became really good friends. He is such a sweet person with a kind heart and it’s an honor being able to ask him to prom!
