Consumer Reports are recommending if you have young children in your house, you shouldn’t have laundry pods and this is why.
With the cases of injury to children- including poisonings – on the rise since 2012, Consumer Reports is dropping the single use laundry detergent packs known as “pods” from their list of recommended detergents.
Young children can easily bite or poke though the thin membranes and get squirts of concentrated detergent down their throats or in their eyes. In 2013, U.S. poison control centers received 10,877 calls about children under age six being injured by the pods. With 2015 a little past the half way point, there have already been over 6,000 calls logged.
