A bottle of beer bought at a restaurant by a sister for her fallen soldier brother will remain at the bar as a permanent tribute.
The woman ordered two beers at the Buffalo Wild Wings restaurant in Tacoma, Washington but her server said she couldn’t order two drinks at a time due to state law. He changed his mind when she told him the beer was for her brother, who was killed while serving in Iraq.
She placed a bottle by the empty seat next to her while she ate lunch. Her waiter then told the woman that the drink would be on the house.
The woman wrote a note on the receipt:
Thank you. An act of kindness goes a long way. It means a lot to me. Have a great rest of your day – A Grateful Soldier.
The manager – Brian Avey posted a photo of the beer and note on Facebook, and it’s been liked more than 70,000 times. Many people are praising the restuarant for honoring fallen soldiers.
