Simpson fans rejoice! Mr. Burns will not have to be voiced by someone else as the voice actor has signed a brand new contract.
Seven weeks ago, the veteran voice actor tweeted that he would not be returning to The Simpsons after contract negotiations fell through with parent company – Fox.
Well, they’re has apparently been a change of heart as Shearer and Fox have agreed on terms of a new deal – apparently paying Shearer along with the five other main actors – Dan Castellaneta, Yeardley Smith, Julie Kavner, Nancy Cartwright & Hank Azaria – more than $300,000 per episode.
Earlier this year Fox had renewed the series for a 27th & 28th season.
To keep The Simpsons on schedule – production on Season 27 commenced earlier this year. However, the series had a couple of holdover episodes from last season already still unaired – so Shearer’s in-between absence won’t be felt significantly to viewers.
