  All Day Geocaching   Get your family out to experience our parks with geocaching, a fun high tech scavenger hunt. Starting this spring, search for Springfield Park District's 10 caches hidden throughout the park district. Find exciting, first to find prizes, as well as passes and other fun prizes.   All Day Macon County Fair   Macon County Fair & Event Facilities, 3700 North Westlawn Avenue, Decatur, IL 62526-9291. Tuesday, June 11- Culinary Judging, 9:00 am ADM Building B-I-N-G-O is his name-o! Play 3 days of bingo during the fair at the Pride of the Prairie Building. You have a chance to win some big money on Tuesday, June 11 – Thursday, June 13! Game time starts at 4:30. Join in any time and play! $20.00 starter packs! Plan to attend the 54th annual Macon County Fair Queen, Parade of Princesses, and Junior Miss pageants on Tuesday, June 11 at 6 pm. Admission is $5.00 and kids under 5 are free.   All Day 72nd annual Midwest Charity Horse Show   The 72nd annual Midwest Charity Horse Show will be held June 11-15 at the Illinois State Fairgrounds Coliseum. Performances will be held daily starting at 11 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. and are free and open to the public. One of the premier horse shows in the United States, the Midwest Charity Horse Show features American Saddlebred, Roadster, Morgan and Arabian horses and Hackney ponies. Since its inception, the Midwest Charity Horse Show, an all-volunteer organization, has donated its annual proceeds to a Springfield area charity. Camp COCO, a project of the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine, Springfield, Ill., has been selected as Midwest’s beneficiary since 1988. Camp COCO is a free, week-long summer camp for children suffering from cancer, leukemia and other blood disorders.   7:00PM 7:30PM CARILLON TOURS AND FREE CONCERTS   The Thomas Rees Memorial Carillon, in Washington Park, will re-open for tours on Saturday, May 4. The Rees Carillon, a 12-story tower with three observation decks, offers spectacular views of Washington Park and Springfield from the city’s highest point of elevation. Tours are offered every 30 minutes on Saturdays and Sundays from 2:00 pm – 8:00 pm. There is one tour on Wednesdays at 6:30 pm. New this year, every tour includes a live carillon performance. Adults - $3.25 and children - $2.50. The new expanded free schedule of concerts begins this Wednesday, May 1. Concerts are Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at 7:00 pm and Sundays at 3:00 and 7:00 pm. Each concert is 30 minutes in length. Robin Austin, the Park District’s Carillonneur plays a wide variety of classical, folk and popular songs. Enjoy the beauty of Washington Park and the adjacent Botanical Center with the unique accompaniment of carillon music

  7:00AM 5:30PM Summer Day Camp   The Springfield Park District is taking registrations for the Nelson Center Summer Day Camp. Camp begins June 3 and runs through August 17 (Monday – Friday from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.). Kids ages 5 -12 can attend and participate in various outdoor activities including swimming, games and themed weeks. Swimming lessons are provided as well. Film will be shown on Tuesday, June 11 and Wednesday, June 12 at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. The Bob Steffan Summer Film Fest is recommended for children ages 3-8 and is great for day care classes, summer camp groups, and families. Each program lasts approximately 30 minutes. Free and open to the public.
