All Day “Give a Little Love” campaign   The “Give a Little Love” campaign is taking place at area McDonald’s restaurants from Tuesday, January 22 through Valentine’s Day on Thursday, February 14. Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Illinois (RMHCCI) invites local residents to participate and “Give a Little Love” by donating $1 or more and your name will be written on a heart to be displayed at McDonald’s. 100% of the proceeds will stay in central Illinois and directly benefit the Ronald McDonald House in Springfield, IL. RMHCCI exists to provide a supportive home away from home for families with children receiving medical care in Springfield, Illinois. Ronald McDonald House offers a good night's sleep, hot meals, and everything needed to keep parents' lives as simple as possible while they tend to the important task at hand: devoting all of their love and support to helping their child get well. RMHCCI is a 501(c)3 charity and could not provide a home away from home to over 300 families each year without the wonderful support of the central Illinois community. Please join us at area McDonald’s restaurants January 22—February 14 to give a lot of love for Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Illinois!   12:30PM 4:00PM LOVE, LOSS AND WHAT I WORE   The Hoogland Center for the Arts, Alice Campbell Staffing, Illinois Times and the American Heart Association will present LOVE, LOSS AND WHAT I WORE on February 1, 2 and 3 in Theatre 3 at the Hoogland Center. Nora Ephron and Delia Ephron’s intimate collection of vignettes and monologues is based on the best-selling book of the same name by Ilene Beckerman, as well as on the recollections of the Ephrons’ friends. Like the book, this funny and poignant theatrical event uses clothing and accessories and the memories they trigger to tell stories that all women can relate to. Syndicated columnist Liz Smith simply raves, “This is an evening that goes directly to the heart, soul and vanity of every woman, young or old.” The production will be directed by Aasne Vigesaa and will feature Nancy Cole, Claire Gordon, Susan Jeffers, Julie Staley and Missy Thibodeaux-Thompson. The show will be a dinner theatre production with the meal provided by Arena Food Service, Inc. Friday, February 1 (doors open at 6:30pm for dinner. Show at 8pm), Saturday, February 2 (doors open at 6:30pm for dinner. Show at 8pm), Sunday, February 3 (doors open at 12:30pm for lunch. Show at 2pm). Tickets are $40 ($10 from each ticket goes to the American Heart Association, so there will be the chance to claim that $10 as a charitable donation).
