U.S. Senator Dick Durbin is asking Republicans to join him as he pushes for passage of the DREAM Act.
The Illinois Democrat has been trying for 16 years to pass a law to give protection to young people brought into the country illegally as children by their parents.
When Durbin was unable to pass the law, then-President Obama implemented it by executive order, but President Trump is rescinding the DACA program and is telling Congress to fix it.
Durbin says the so-called DREAMers have a lot to give the country and should not be deported.
